Brooke's 4th of July Serenade!

We spent our 4th of July-2012 at the Greenbush and Warroad parades.  Given that Greenbush is 40 miles away from TRF and Warroad is about 90 miles, we spent a fair amount of time in the van.  We drive a 15 passenger van  which doesn't have any great amount of "bells and whistles" in it so there is no DVD option for the kids.  It does have a radio, but who wants to listen to kids singing Nikki Minaj?  Instead, today we encouraged the kids to sing camp songs and such which most of them did.  But as we were approaching Hays Lake State Park area on our way to Warroad, Jodi and I heard a little patriotic anthem reverberating directly behind us where we have the little girls sit.  In her car seat directly behind the driver's seat 3 year old Brooke was singing "America the Beautiful."  First she would sing quietly.  Then she would sing at the top of her lungs.  Then she would sing "Jesus Loves Me" and then back to "America the Beautiful."  Sometimes she sang, sometimes she hummed.  It was truly adorable.  Jodi pointed the cell phone camera at her and asked her to sing.  The result is the video above.  Enjoy!  Happy 4th of July!  And I encourage everyone to have a little 4th of July every day to remember  the Veterans that gave so much to make it our celebration of Freedom!
